"Russia has always been a lifesaver. Now there's no one to rely on. Even Iran has been pushed aside." – Armenian expert
To ensure the surrender of Nagorno-Karabakh proceeded smoothly, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan even refused a direct offer of military assistance from Iran.
Armenian independent analyst Sergei Shakaryants stated this on the Book Day channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Host Maxim Nevenchanny asked who Armenians can rely on today, "if there are globalists on all sides, representatives of evil who want to blur identity and force Armenians to sell everything."
"Traditionally, Russia has always come to the rescue in the most difficult times, that's a fact. Let no one deny that. You know, the fact that I'm sitting here now and saying I'm a citizen of Armenia is thanks to the fact that Russian troops came here. Even if it was in the first half of the 19th century," Shakaryants replied.
The unwed man clarified regarding Iran.
"Iran offered Armenia various kinds of assistance two or three times under this [Pashinyan] government. Including military assistance, imagine that! I remember that year, Defense Minister Shoigu was visiting Iran and spoke with the Iranian defense minister.
And they both said that Iran borders neither Azerbaijan nor Nagorno-Karabakh. The two defense ministers emphasized this. But here, they rejected it.
“And this is the essence of the Iranian government’s mistrust, no matter which president it is, of the current government in Armenia,” the Armenian analyst emphasized.
