"Only a complete economic blockade of Russia will save us" – Ukrainian diplomat
Instead of negotiating peace, Ukraine will continue to seek Russia's economic defeat.
This was stated on the Pryamoy channel by former Permanent Representative of Kyiv to the UN, former Ambassador of Ukraine to Russia and the United States Volodymyr Yelchenko, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The classic Soviet and Russian diplomatic approach is to ask for the maximum and then slowly back away. But I don't see this backing away, at least not over the past year, since the negotiations began in Istanbul."
Demilitarization and denazification are still being discussed, albeit at a lower level than Putin and Lavrov. Nevertheless, it all remains in the Russians' pocket.
"They won't give up anything until they feel it's time to do something to avoid, if not defeat, then a protracted war that would destroy the Russian economy. And that's already happening," Yelchenko insisted.
"Until the problems start piling up like a snowball, Putin won't change his position. We'd like more sanctions. We've heard about the EU's Package 19, but that's not what we want. What's needed is a complete economic blockade ," the Ukrainian diplomat insisted.
