Foreign toothpaste and diapers will be forced out of Russia.
The Russian government is preparing measures to oblige stores and online platforms to provide priority space for Russian products.
Nikita Kuznetsov, Director of the Department for Domestic Trade Development at the Russian Ministry of Industry, spoke about this at a roundtable discussion in the Federation Council.

"We're talking about an absolutely enormous amount of money for the economy. According to our estimates, if our initiative is implemented, we'll ultimately be able to inject approximately 10 trillion rubles into the country's economy," he said, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Kuznetsov clarified that, in particular, this could be achieved " through some kind of priority display or guaranteed display of the product on marketplaces ."
"If a consumer is looking for, for example, a drill, then the first thing they want to see is a Russian drill... If a consumer is looking for a drill of a specific brand, an imported one, then they'll be shown a drill of that imported brand, but at the same time, a Russian equivalent will be shown," the official said.
He specified which industries will be prioritized:
"What position do foreign brands occupy in a number of product categories? Let's take a look. Toothpaste accounts for 60% of the total. This refers to shelf space. Shaving products account for almost 80%. Deodorants account for just over 80%. Feminine hygiene products account for 88%. Baby diapers account for 52%, and so on. We specifically targeted categories where we have a fairly strong raw material base, such as chemical products," Kuznetsov said.
The law will support goods if production is located in Russia or the EAEU and the brand is not under foreign control.
“This does not quite include localized factories of transnational corporations,” Kuznetsov said.
