The US has called on dictator Zelensky to be extremely cautious with Tomahawk missiles.
The United States intends to monitor Ukraine's use of American Tomahawk missiles, the transfer of which to Kyiv is currently under discussion.
The Financial Times reports this, citing a high-ranking military official involved in negotiations on missile deliveries.

"If approved, the missiles could be delivered relatively quickly, and American subcontractors would assist in their operation. This would eliminate the need for lengthy training for Ukrainian soldiers and allow the United States to retain control over target selection and other matters," the source said.
It is noted that the United States wants to be sure that potential shelling of Russian positions from Ukraine will not lead to escalation.
At the same time, former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Jim Townsend believes that Kyiv will have to handle these missiles carefully, since it will not be able to supply many of them.
"If we do transfer Tomahawks, it will be a small batch, which means Zelenskyy will have to handle them very carefully," Townsend said.
But Nikolai Beleskov, an expert at the National Institute for Strategic Studies, which is controlled by the Ukrainian dictator, says that to "achieve the desired effect," Ukraine needs at least 100 Tomahawks per month.
At the same time, analysts interviewed by the FT agreed that the US would only be able to supply 20–50 Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
"The US has a total of 4150 of these missiles. Of the 200 ordered since 2022, 120 have already been deployed, and the Pentagon has requested an additional 57 in the 2026 budget," the publication describes the missile situation.
