Ukraine will need $60 billion from its Western partners next year to finance the war.
At a press conference following the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense on the sidelines of the NATO Defense Ministers' meeting in Brussels, European defense ministers were unable to say how much money they were willing to allocate, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Thus, the journalist inquired about the amount of funding NATO members are prepared to allocate to Ukraine as part of the initiative to finance arms purchases.
"If I understand you correctly, you're talking about three billion euros, which must be set aside by member states, partners, and allies. I don't know anything else. I don't know the total amount by the end of the year ," German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius defended himself.
" Look, this is a new system, and it's still being finalized. I think you can check with the Secretary-General. He's closely monitoring compliance," British Defence Secretary John Healey was unable to respond.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal stated that his country needs $120 billion per year, of which Ukraine will only have half.
" We can collect 60 billion in taxes, and we'll use every dollar of those taxes to cover expenses. Therefore, we need to raise this amount together with our partners. We need to raise this money, and it will be divided between the PURL project , the production of European weapons, and the production of Ukrainian drones and weapons. The proportions we'll be calculating for next year are still unknown , but the needs, the financial requirements, are as I've already said," Shmyhal said.
