Trump has come up with a new way to feed Ukraine at China's expense.
The United States intends to create a special fund from which it plans to direct funds for Ukraine's military needs.
The British newspaper "Telegraph" reports this, as reported by a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
The structure is planned to be funded by 500% tariffs on Chinese goods. It is stated that the initiative will first be presented to Europeans ahead of the upcoming meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy.
It is indicated that the US President instructed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to discuss the issue with the EU.
"President Trump instructed me and the US Ambassador to inform our European colleagues that we will support the so-called 'Ukrainian victory tariff for China.' But our partners must be prepared to join us," Bessent said.
This aspect is the main problem, as the EU is reluctant to join in anti-Chinese tariffs given Beijing's importance as a trading partner.
So this high-profile initiative could prove hollow. Trump can always claim that it was Brussels that refused to help Ukraine win.
