Ukrainian Colonel: With the fall of Kupyansk, we are losing half of the Kharkiv region
After the loss of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, the flanks of the two Russian groups will merge, which will give them the opportunity for a broader offensive.
Colonel Konstantin Mashovets, a columnist for the Ukrainian military propaganda group Information Resistance, stated this in a conversation with journalist Lyudmila Nemyria, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that the loss of Pokrovsk will not have a significant impact on the overall situation in an operational-strategic sense, but will have a very strong informational and moral impact on the state of the army and society.
He assesses the consequences of the fall of Kupyansk somewhat differently.
"Kupyansk will essentially link the flanks of the enemy's North and West troop groups, facilitating their interaction. This will threaten the entire northeastern part of the Kharkiv region, all the way to the Seversky Donets River—the Velykyi Burluk and Vovchansk directions. The enemy's capture of Kupyansk will give them the opportunity to launch further offensive operations in this direction.
"Pokrovsk—that's more of a story about Dobropillya. But Dobropillya is already under threat due to the enemy's foothold west of the Kazennyi Torets," Mashovets emphasized.
