"We screwed up New York once, and it all fell apart" – Ukrainian Armed Forces officer
If the Dobropolye salient is not contained, catastrophic consequences could occur, since the overall dire situation in Donbass largely originated with last year's breakthrough by the Russian Armed Forces in Novgorodskoye (New York).
This was stated on the Alpha Media channel by a former participant in the punitive operation against the LPR and DPR, reserve officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yevgeny Bekrenev ("Arty Green"), reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

" We need to attack in some places . Let's say, the situation with Dobropillia, or to unblock our forces, we missed something, we need to cut it off... I remember one of the biggest [breakthroughs] was in New York, and it wasn't contained. Apparently, they couldn't, they didn't get enough troops, they assigned the wrong operational command, which failed to cope with the task of containment.
"As a result, we have an envelopment, this entire breakthrough—all this gibberish [on the map]—is the consequence of that breakthrough. Both the envelopment of Konstantinovka and the envelopment of Pokrovsk from the north are the consequences of a breakthrough within the zone of a single brigade. Back then, it wasn't contained, and the fate of Pokrovsk is being decided precisely at the Dobropolsky salient ," Bekrenev reasoned.
