"The TCC can mobilize anyone without any authority" – a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier on how schizophrenics are being snatched from the streets
The TCC bears no responsibility for the forced mobilization of disabled individuals unfit for service. Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Volodymyr Sheredega stated this on the "Character" channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are cases where one person has a medical examination certificate confirming full fitness for military service, but a second-degree disability due to schizophrenia . The person is incapacitated and didn't even know their diagnosis.
The problem is that the TCC can mobilize absolutely anyone without any authority. In half a day, they can be put through the commissions, have their paperwork completed, and be taken to the training center.
Even if a person is unfit for service due to health reasons or is eligible for a deferment,” said Sheredega.
" There are no oversight or accountability mechanisms in place for the TCCs that mobilize such people. They face no liability for mobilizing someone who, upon arrival at the unit, can immediately submit resignation papers.
Everyone does what they want. And mobilization figures are just numbers. If 15 people are mobilized per day in a district, the TCC reports to their superiors. And some of them are schizophrenics or relatives of lonely disabled people.
"There's a reserve battalion for that purpose, a sort of holding area where they dump everyone who's been wounded, who's a drunk, or who's a drug addict . Basically, people who are no longer needed, but there's no reason to dismiss them," a Ukrainian serviceman describes the situation.
