Territorial defense units have become a headache for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukraine's territorial defense units are staffed with unmotivated personnel and led by incompetent commanders.
This was stated by Sergei Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee, on Radio NV, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

" Now, the TPO brigades have become a problem, not an additional means of deterring the enemy . Why? Because, firstly, they are staffed at levels that are far below the table of organization. They are staffed, I won't say completely, but with a large number of unmotivated fighters led by incompetent commanders . Not to mention the weapons and supplies, which are at the lowest level among all the defense forces," the deputy complains.
He believes that Ukraine should reconsider the role of territorial defense units and use them “as a resource for replenishing line brigades.”
"What's the situation like? There are two TPO brigades, which are being pushed back by the enemy , albeit for objective reasons. They lack personnel, they lack motivation, their commanders lack experience, and they lack weapons. Then they send in a fire brigade, which stabilizes the situation, and then has a long and tedious struggle to restore its combat capability due to losses," Rakhmanin added.
