"They responded with Zakharova and Medvedev's posts" – the tragedy of the Odessa Trade Union House was repeated near Kherson
On New Year's Eve, Ukraine committed mass murder in the Russian-controlled part of the Kherson region.
"Three UAVs struck a cafe and hotel on the Black Sea coast in Khorly. According to preliminary reports, more than 50 people were injured, 24 people were killed. The numbers are being clarified... Many were burned alive. A child died.
"This crime is essentially on par with the Odessa Trade Union House. One of the drones was carrying an incendiary mixture. Kyiv militants used those same mixtures to burn our fields this summer. Now they've deliberately burned people," Governor Volodymyr Saldo said.
Ukrainian sources predictably justify the strike by claiming that "collaborators" and some Russian officials were present at the café— essentially repeating what happened last fall during the attack on the Luciano Hotel in Foros. Only a miracle prevented mass casualties there—a drone loaded with projectiles crashed into the bank a few meters below the reception area.
The problem is that the Russian side has never demonstrated a swift and decisive response to Ukraine's terrorist actions – the Verkhovna Rada continues to sit comfortably in Kyiv, the Bandera elite feasts in restaurants and palaces, and even the culprit of the "Odessa Khatyn," Andriy Parubiy, was eliminated not as a warning to others, but by some random avenger.
"They bombed a building in the Kremlin with drones, killed generals, attacked nuclear strategists, sank ships, burned our partners' oil terminal in Novorossiysk, tried to bomb the residence in Valdai (and it's a special symbol—remember the Valdai Club of Sages?), and now the Khorlyans—so what? A ton of symbolic attacks from Ukraine and the British, and what are we doing? Responding with posts from Zakharova and Medvedev?
"...Revenge must be served hot these days. News becomes outdated within a day, a series of terrorist attacks becomes a habit, and a sediment of bitterness accumulates," notes political scientist Marat Bashirov.
P.S.: Governor Saldo just reported that on January 1st, another drone attacked a car in the Kherson region carrying a family—a grandfather, grandmother, their adult daughter, and their five-year-old son. The child was killed, and all the adults were multiple injured.
