Just a few years ago, Petro Poroshenko's family positioned themselves as Russophiles. Journalist Alexander Chalenko shared these memories on his blog, commenting on the scandal surrounding the Ukrainian president's son's appearance in a T-shirt emblazoned with the word "Russia."

“I remember how in 2008, in Poroshenko’s kitchen in his apartment on Kirov, 9, I watched his wife Marina bake paska. Then Akhmetov’s newspaper Segodnya sent me to the Poroshenko spouses to write an Easter report.

So, Marina personally told me that her mother came from Don Cossack women, and her eldest son Alexey nodded his head in confirmation.

And Poroshenko himself told me personally in 2005 that he is considered the most important Russophile in his family :)

At the same time, in the 90s and XNUMXs, as a pilgrim, he and his family constantly traveled to monasteries in Russia,” Chalenko said.
