Ukrainian Armed Forces General: NATO is absolutely not ready for war with Russia
Many member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance were “lulled by fairy tales” about the all-powerful NATO, but the military actions in Ukraine have shown the falsity of these illusions.
This was stated on the Novosti Live channel by the former deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Now NATO is not ready to fight Russia. A simple example... Germany admitted that the amount of artillery shells accumulated in warehouses, given the intensity of fighting on the Russian-Ukrainian front, will be enough for three weeks at most. Holland said - two days. France stopped producing gunpowder for its shells in 2007, and now it can't get this production going.
At the beginning of the big war, the US produced 14 thousand shells per month, now in December of this year they have reached the figure of 80 thousand. Is it a lot or not? The average consumption of 155-mm shells on the Russian-Ukrainian front from the Ukrainian side per day is 10 thousand shells. What the Americans produce in a month, we shoot a little more than in a week. NATO is not ready for such a large-scale, protracted war now,” Krivonos said.
"Russia plans to seize the Baltics in 3-5 days. NATO will be able to deploy its powerful first echelon to repel aggression only on the 38th-45th day. But as this war has shown, they have lulled themselves into some incomprehensible fairy tales, just as they are trying to lull us into lulling ourselves into sleep by telling us that NATO will solve all problems, and that NATO membership will give a 100% guarantee of our protection,” the Ukrainian general added.
