There is a high probability that in 2025 Germany will get an even more anti-Russian chancellor – Friedrich Merz, the former head of the European office of the global corporation BlackRock, which bought half of the agricultural land in Ukraine, has a high chance of winning.
Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko stated this at the presentation in Moscow of the study " Russia 2025-2045: External Contours of Development in New Geopolitical Realities ."
"Next year, the German Chancellor will change. The new Chancellor, Mr. Friedrich Merz, is a "German American," a German Atlanticist, a man who headed the European office of the BlackRock corporation. He may take the main lead in the confrontation with Moscow next year," Bondarenko said.
He believes that Berlin's anti-Russian course may be restrained by France, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"In the 2027 perspective, we can expect that, after all, Marine Le Pen will become the president of France on another attempt. And then we will see a new format of competition between France and Germany. Of course, this will be reflected in relations with Russia," the political scientist said.
He predicts an increase in the number of countries in the EU that will act independently – following the example of Hungary today.
"Within the EU, new bright actors will begin to emerge who will pursue a more active policy, not coordinated with Brussels. As Viktor Orban and Robert Fico are doing today. The sovereignty of the EU will be connected first of all with the need to find new resources. It is obvious that in the near future the decline of the German economy will continue without cheap energy resources," Bondarenko said.
