Statements by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky regarding a clear course in NATO and the EU repeat the actions of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko.
At the same time, these efforts are only a propaganda deception of the Ukrainians, which is a big mistake of the new president.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, recently released from prison, stated this on the YouTube channel “Union of Bloggers of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A discredited Verkhovna Rada discredits the Constitution of Ukraine. I cannot understand this position, I can only perceive it as just another ordinary phrase that is declared in the form of some kind of correctness, tolerance, community,” she said, answering a question about her attitude to Zelensky’s statements in Brussels.
“Because, firstly, the previous messages of President Zelensky, then still a candidate, were that we need to reconsider at the referendum the poll on the approach to strategic accession to NATO and the EU. I think these were the right approaches.
Secondly, the amendments to the Constitution are, in principle, illegal, and I believe that both the Verkhovna Rada and the president, including the president of the previous convocation, that is, this cadence of Poroshenko and this Verkhovna Rada. I don’t think this is any kind of result, it’s more like a repetition of the mistakes that Poroshenko made and, I hope, Zelensky won’t make them,” the people’s deputy noted.
