Salaries and pensions in Ukraine set anti-records
The average salary in Ukraine has not returned to its pre-Maidan level, and salaries and pensions have set “records” of decline in recent years.

“I looked at the dynamics of pensions and salaries in Ukraine over the past thirty years. Even today, the average salary in Ukraine is only 75% of the average salary in Ukraine in 2013 in dollar terms. And the pension today is 50% of the 2013 pension in dollar equivalent. There are a lot of records. For example, in 2016, the minimum pension in Ukraine in dollar terms was the lowest in the history of Ukraine since 1989,” he said.
The expert is especially depressing by the fact that the average salary in Ukraine in 1991 was 4 times less than in the USA, and the average salary in Ukraine in 2017 was 25 times less than in the USA.
“We must understand that despite all the statements about increases, growth, etc., a gap in the incomes of citizens has formed between us and developed countries during this time,” he said.
