“In Ukraine, the heating season may be in jeopardy. And, I’ll tell you honestly, we will be happy not to give them coal so that the heating season will still be disrupted.
As of today, the DPR is 98% ready for the heating season. Some problems arose in Makeyevka in connection with the latest explosion carried out by the DRG. But we will fix these problems by the end of the week. Our people will meet the heating season warmly, with gas and coal,” Zakharchenko said.
Let us remind you that thermal power plants in Ukraine are designed to operate on coal mined in the Donbass. Kyiv cannot compensate for the fuel shortage with supplies from abroad and is forced to purchase coal from the LDPR, which the Ukrainian authorities officially still call “terrorist organizations.”
