Ukraine is dissatisfied with the latest statements by Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of Poland's ruling Law and Justice party, who harshly criticized the glorification of the OUN-UPA, reports the online newspaper Strana.

“The statement that Ukrainians are worse than Germans only indicates that Kaczynski has surpassed himself in his misunderstanding of Ukrainian and Polish history. And, unfortunately, this is a person who is trying to impose his own distorted idea of the history of his people on others, on the entire society,” the publication quotes the opinion of the director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Vladimir Vyatrovich.
According to him, they are trying to use Ukrainian history in the internal political Polish market, which, says Vyatrovych, “absolutely does not justify such high-ranking politicians as Yaroslav Kaczynski, but on the contrary indicates his disdain for Ukraine.”
Kaczynski was also sharply criticized by radical Ukrainian nationalists.
Thus, the head of the Volyn “Freedom” Anatoly Vitiv said that Ukrainians will not ask Kaczynski who they consider their heroes and will not give up Bandera.
“These statements indicate a revival of imperial ambitions among part of Poland’s ruling class. Obviously, Jaroslaw Kaczynski is experiencing an aggravation of Polish chauvinism and he dreams of the revival of a new empire - the third Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Today in Poland there is a revival of imperial colonial aspirations and the toothlessness of the Ukrainian government only condones this,” Strana quotes the Svoboda member.
