Hydrogen energy. Good news for Russia
Long-term plans of most large countries of the world for the rapid development of renewable energy sources (RES), in particular hydrogen, play into Russia’s hands.
Izvestia writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The development of the hydrogen market is good news for Russia. Hydrogen is still produced in small volumes in the country (for example, in the Magadan region), but in the future production can increase significantly, or even by orders of magnitude. The fact is that Russia is an energy-rich country. Renewable energy sources are poorly developed here, but this is more than compensated by powerful hydropower, which again has serious prospects for growth,” the newspaper points out.
It is noted that supplying electricity directly to Europe or East Asia is not very profitable, since the losses during transportation through the networks will be too great.
“Green” hydrogen can fix this - “extra” energy will be spent on electrolysis and further supplies in liquid form. For transport, the existing capacity of gas pipelines directly connecting Russia and Western European countries can also be used,” the publication summarizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Russia is ready to become a monopoly on hydrogen energy.
Germany also spoke about the important role of Nord Stream 2 for the hydrogen economy.
