Ukrainian authorities will throw 10 thousand miners onto the street: Mass layoffs are being prepared
The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine proposes a concept for reforming the coal industry, according to which the number of workers in it will be reduced by 10 thousand people.
This was stated at a press conference on the situation in the coal industry by Mikhail Volynets, chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine.

“The ministry is now offering us another version of the concept, which provides for reducing the number of employees by 10 thousand (out of 48 thousand). At a recent meeting with governors, I asked them a question: do they agree that 10 thousand people will be thrown onto the streets? Do you understand that if the mechanism for liquidating mines is launched, then after one mine another will close, and it will be difficult to stop?” – the trade unionist is indignant.
