Ukrainian authorities announce a shutdown of electricity and gas in Crimea and Donbass
Kyiv, November 05 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Ukraine must establish the same economic regime in the part of Donbass that is not under its control as in Crimea. In simple words, completely cut off these territories from funding from the state budget, but also exempt enterprises from taxes. Advisor to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko stated this on Channel 5.
According to him, Ukraine should also stop supplying electricity and gas to Donbass.

“Ukraine supplies gas, gasoline, and electricity to territories not under its control. In fact, there are no payments for gas and electricity. At the same time, Ukraine is increasing its debts to Russia. The same thing happens in a lot of other areas. There is smuggling of goods from Russia. Here we need to raise the question of the status of these territories. It is a given: this territory has been captured. It is necessary to determine the status of these territories similar to the status of Crimea, to determine what relationships to build further in terms of energy supplies, payment of pensions and social benefits,” Gerashchenko said.
