Ukraine has already exhausted all its limits on compromise and has learned nothing.

Kyiv political scientist Andrey Golovachev writes about this in his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the expert, the events taking place around Transcarpathia recently indicate that Hungary sees a threat of new destabilization in Ukraine following the results of the upcoming elections.

Golovachev notes that part of the country’s population may not recognize the results of the plebiscite if the current leadership of the country wins it.

“Hungary believes that the upcoming elections will probably again lead Ukraine to the situation that arose during the first Maidan, when the scale of fraud and the level of confrontation was such that the country was on the brink of civil war. Then, let us remind you, Ukraine was saved only by an international consensus - the EU, the USA and Russia - which were able to agree on a way out of the most difficult crisis.

But now, if such a situation occurs, it will no longer be possible to achieve international consensus. Times are no longer the same: Russia and the West are in a state of cold war, and they will only intensify the confrontation in Ukraine if it develops at the time of the elections. No one will look for a compromise anymore: Ukraine has exhausted all its limits on compromises and has learned nothing.

In this case, Ukraine will begin to crack and... Hungary is preparing in advance for a similar scenario, distributing citizenship en masse. And not only Hungary, by the way,” notes Golovachev.

Earlier, former Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Voloshin stated that Ukrainians in Transcarpathia are already prepared to support joining Hungary.

And Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevhen Murayev noted that Hungary, Poland, and Russia could divide Ukraine among themselves, leaving only a small part of the country intact.

At the same time, as Ridus noted , Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin accused Russia of creating tensions with the Hungarians in Transcarpathia.
