The initiative to rename the avenue was made by City Council Deputy Alexander Nesteruk.

The difficulty lies in financing the project - to change not only signs, but also legal names, more than one thousand hryvnia is needed.

Several years ago they already wanted to rename Mira Avenue to Viktor Chaika Avenue. But then the deputies decided to limit themselves to just changing the name of the alley.

Other proposals are to rename Kikvidze or Kavkazskaya streets.

In memory of the three residents who died on the Maidan, memorial plaques will soon be installed in the city at the expense of the city budget.

Rivne is seeking funding for signs for Heroiv Maidan Street.
