This was stated by the head of the municipal legal department, Inna Popovskaya, as quoted by the online newspaper “Strana”.
“This decision has not returned any name that falls under the decommunization law. None. Because those names that were renamed according to the order of the chairman of the Odessa regional administration Saakashvili were adopted without public discussions, I’m not talking about the procedural violations that were committed. Streets that are not subject to the decommunization law were renamed. They were renamed to the names that other streets are already called,” Popovskaya emphasized.
As PolitNavigator reported, the SBU saw the return of the names of Zhukov, Gaidar, and Tereshkova to Odessa streets as "war propaganda . "
