Yanukovych's lawyer, Alexander Goroshinsky, stated this at a court hearing in the treason case, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like to draw your attention to the fact that already on November 21, protests have been taking place near the Cabinet of Ministers. There were clashes between them. They are already using force against Berkut. The barrier is being broken down and sticks are already being used. Don't you think they knew something? Why is that? Where did the already prepared people come from with specific calls and a specific task - to shake the situation? It was necessary to get a backlash from Berkut. I emphasize that this began to happen on November 21st.
On November 30 – we all remember – the formation of Maidan self-defense units began. Regional units of the self-defense headquarters were created in regional centers, where they were engaged in local coordination of protesters and ensuring the transportation of activists to Kyiv. From the very beginning of the Maidan, logistics were very clearly and professionally formed to ensure the rapid delivery of people from the regions to Kyiv,” he said.
