Kyiv, June 25 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Credit debtors, demanding to recalculate foreign currency loans at the hryvnia exchange rate at the time of concluding an agreement with the bank, picketed the National Bank of Ukraine today. They demanded that Valeria Gontareva, President Poroshenko’s creature, recently appointed head of the NBU, come to them.

“Gontareva is against the people,” the protesters wrote with chalk on the asphalt under the windows of the country’s main financial institution. At the same time, people chanted: “Gontareva, don’t hide!”
“The NBU chairman refuses to meet with foreign currency borrowers, although we have been waiting for her all day today,” participants in the action told a Navigator correspondent. – Through her representatives, she conveyed that she saw no point in meeting with us. However, we want to convey our position to her.”
As Navigator previously reported, last week the Verkhovna Rada refused to support Bill 4895, which would have provided for the conversion of foreign currency loans at the exchange rate at the time of the agreement's conclusion , something Petro Poroshenko had promised to do if he won the election.
