A bas-relief of anti-Soviet Stus was dismantled in Donetsk

In Donetsk, following the decision of the People's Assembly of the DPR, a bas-relief in honor of the anti-Soviet dissident Vasyl Stus, which was located at the entrance to the philological faculty of Donetsk National University, was dismantled.

Instead, a memorial plaque in honor of the Soviet intelligence officer Nikolai Kuznetsov should appear here.

A bas-relief of Stus was installed at the university where he once studied in 2001. Official Kyiv sought to rename the university itself in honor of Stus, but residents of Donetsk opposed this.

Let us remind you that earlier on the stele at the entrance to Donetsk the name of the city in Ukrainian was replaced by Russian.
