“This is rather a technical meeting, which explains precisely this level of representation of the countries participating in the Normandy format.” At the moment, the key task is to compare notes on the issues that are being considered within the framework of the format itself and, naturally, within the framework of the Minsk negotiation process. It is also not surprising that the main speakers are the heads of sections within the framework of the OSCE process, who must report on the current situation, contradictions within the framework of the negotiation process, positions, identify the main trends, fundamental issues on which the representatives of the “Normandy format” should agree and look for within the framework of these issues there is a compromise,” the expert said.
“We have heard more than once in recent weeks that the newly elected President of France has stated his desire and initiatives to hold a summit meeting within the framework of the Normandy format. Therefore, certain trends have emerged regarding the meeting. Now it is necessary to isolate the most important things, which is what the deputy foreign ministers will do at the meeting in Berlin,” Denisov believes.
Berlin will synchronize its watches with Minsk.
