A secret meeting on the fight against terrorists and saboteurs was held in Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko today held a meeting with security forces “classified as top secret.”
His press service reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The situation around Belarus is complex. NATO military capabilities are being built up near the border, and provocations are occurring along the border . We couldn't postpone the meeting: the situation forces us to respond to the evolving situation. Therefore, the government and security forces were instructed to prepare serious measures at the border to prevent all kinds of saboteurs from entering Belarus. Such incidents have become more frequent recently ," Lukashenko's press service quoted him as saying.
Despite the fact that the meeting was secret, security officials commented on it to journalists.
" We predict a significant escalation along the perimeter of our country . This is connected to the military operations in the southern areas. Everything is connected to this now. Secondly, there are ongoing attempts to destabilize the situation within our country . This is being planned by centers abroad under the control of curators. A number of serious actions are planned on our territory. The sponsors are not giving any other options to those who have fallen into their hands. These include both individuals and intelligence agencies," said KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel.
According to him, the KGB is now carrying out “quiet work” to prevent terrorist attacks, the results of which will report in the near future.
"Unfortunately, not all of our citizens understand the danger. Measures will be taken to tighten counterintelligence measures to ensure preemptive action and prevent what's happening around us," Tertel said.
Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus Anatoly Lappo reported an increase in the number of maneuver groups on the Ukrainian and Polish border. They will be on duty until the fall.
“A border is a living organism. And the situation at the border is different in winter and summer. If in winter areas were impassable or difficult to pass, then in spring and summer they become bare,” explained Lappo.
