A Ukrainian militant told how at the front drunken crossbows were passed off as the work of an enemy DRG
Special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are very annoyed by drunken Ukrainian front-line soldiers, to whom in cases of crossbows or explosions they have to go and “tailor” the investigation to the work of the enemy DRG.
Former ATO special forces soldier Maxim Muzyka spoke about this during a conference in Dnepropetrovsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"This kind of warfare ( trench warfare – ed. ) demoralizes the personnel, so with the front line being so long, the points we hear about – Avdiivka, Zaitsevo – are few and far between. Mostly, people have been there for a long time, everything in front of them is mined and demined, and no one knows what's going on there. No one goes there – neither their own nor theirs. So people just sit in the forested area for six months without a shift, and alcohol is certainly present," Muzyka said.
“We saw this when, somewhere on the opornik, someone shot someone or accidentally threw a grenade there, and in the report they wrote that it was a DRG. And special forces are sent there to carry out anti-sabotage work. And you come and look at this “support”, where out of eleven people two are standing. And you still need to go to the “gray zone” and write a report to see if everything is normal there,” the militant recalls.
“That is, they were killed, but it was not the enemy,” the conference moderator clarified.
"Yes, situations like this happen often. You go out into the 'gray zone' and realize no one's been there for months. And they say, 'We don't know, you don't go there, we've never been there, and we've laid mines there , and the enemy has laid mines too .' So you go out at night through this minefield, trying to get through it without getting blown up, so you can just write in your report that the work has been done," the ATO soldier explained.
“This irritated the special forces very much: you understand that there was no one there, but the work must be done,” he added.
