“People in camouflage armed with machine guns, knocking down doors, broke into private homes, carried out searches (without court approval), “requisitioned” valuables, humiliated and beat the owners, threatening to shoot them,” reports Zerkalo Nedeli.
There are several dozen statements documenting the events. However, most citizens refused to describe the searches in writing, fearing for their safety.
According to the statement of citizen L., people in camouflage armed with machine guns broke into her home, threatened to shoot her “according to the laws of martial law,” beat her husband and even shot at the ceiling. Without any explanation, they conducted a search and took away the computer and phone.”
Thus, individual security forces, designed to protect the integrity of the state and maintain law and order, as the author of the article notes, “with their activities not only discredit the current government, but also cause fear and hatred among the local population.”
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Chairman of the Lugansk Regional State Administration Gennady Moskal announced cases of looting and inappropriate behavior on the part of volunteer battalions and demanded that law enforcement agencies restore order.
