Ukrainians can now travel to Turkey without foreign passports - using internal ID cards

The Turkish authorities have approved a decision to amend the procedure for mutual travel and recognize the internal Ukrainian passport (ID card) as a travel document for Ukrainians traveling to Turkey.

Chairman of the State Migration Service Maxim Sokolyuk announced this on his Facebook page.

“On May 20, the Turkish authorities officially published decision 2017/10324 on changes to the procedure for mutual travel and recognition of the new (internal) Ukrainian passport (ID-card) as a travel document for travel of Ukrainian citizens to Turkey,” he noted. .

He also added that Ukrainian citizens have now issued 550 thousand new internal passports, and this figure is increasing by 5-6 thousand ID cards every day.
