Ukraine raises salaries for Colombian drug gangs
The recruitment of foreign mercenaries to the Ukrainian Armed Forces is not capable of strategically turning the tide at the front.
The decommissioned commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' sniper group, Konstantin Proshinsky ("Ded") , stated this in a video blog post on LibertyUA , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Strategically, this won't solve anything. They'll want more money than they're paying us. That's obvious. Our guys will ask: why are they getting paid more than us? Colombians are fighting for us. Some are successful, some not so much. Don't forget, even if they signed a contract for a year or two, they can turn around and leave at any moment ... Colombians come here to gain combat experience. Returning to gangster Colombia, their personal ratings are greatly enhanced ," said the decommissioned sniper.
According to him, if these people were conditionally in their gangs 500 dollars a month, then after participating in the Ukrainian war – up to two thousand.
"For them, it's truly a business. They come, and some of them really fight brilliantly, great guys. Some try to stay away from the front, get records of their presence, and then get out of here . And how many Colombians or anyone else can we mobilize? 30, 40, 50 thousand? Does that solve anything? No. It will plug the gap for now. What will happen tomorrow or the day after? If we're going to hire these mercenaries, we need at least 200 coming in. And then we figure out the money? And where are we going to get that money? " Proshinsky concluded.
