Without NATO support, the Ukrainian army will not be able to become a threat to Russia.
Retired US Army Colonel and former Nebraska Senator Tom Brewer stated this on the Apostrophe TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The American was asked whether a ceasefire in Ukraine was possible without security guarantees from the West to Kyiv.
He believes that a "mix of NATO and US mobile units" should be deployed in Ukraine to make them "fear Putin."
At the same time, despite all the compliments addressed to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, he believes that the Ukrainian army is not suitable for this role.
"Frankly, we need to instill fear in Putin; he's not afraid of the Ukrainian army. I think an international force would be the best option for Ukraine to deter Russia from seeking to seize any more territory," Brewer said.
