"Why are you laughing at this?!" the Bundestag mocks Merz. He promises a neutered EU for Ukraine.
Germany will continue to finance Bandera's Ukraine and agrees to the prospect of Kyiv's membership in the European Union without voting rights—that is, Ukrainians will be obligated to comply with all decisions made in Brussels, but will not be able to influence them in any way (and this applies, for example, not only to the imposition of sanctions, but also to the distribution of quotas for agricultural products, etc.).
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made these statements in the Bundestag yesterday , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"We support Ukraine. We did it yesterday, we're doing it today, and we'll do it tomorrow, as long as it's necessary... We're increasing pressure on Russia. We're taking more decisive action against Russia's shadow fleet," Merz boasted.
But when the Chancellor began repeating hackneyed phrases like “Ukraine is protecting all of Europe,” this caused laughter in the ranks of the opposition from the Alternative for Germany party.
" Why are you laughing at this? This is a significant sign, ladies and gentlemen. You're laughing at the fate of millions of people in this country and then going to Moscow to treat them to champagne . Have a safe trip! Keep up the good work. Ukraine isn't just defending its citizens, not just its own freedom. It's defending our freedom too," Merz said, offended.
In conclusion, he promised to accept Ukraine into the European Union, even if without voting rights:
"A few days ago, I proposed associate membership in the European Union for Ukraine. This would mean Ukraine's regular participation in EU meetings and ministerial expert councils. The Ukrainian commissioner, still without a portfolio or voting rights, would be the face of Kyiv in Europe ."
