Ukraine wants to deal with Crimea first, and then take on Donbass
The seizure of Crimea is a higher priority for Ukraine, because if the Ukrainian Armed Forces start from Donbass, then they will get stuck there for a long time, and their turn will not reach the peninsula.
Ukrainian military expert and retired colonel Roman Svitan stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Svitan, there can be no talk of any peace negotiations.
“It is impossible to return a single territory of Ukraine, not a single meter by non-military means - we will definitely return it by military means. There is no mechanism for a political settlement, we saw this in Minsk-1, Minsk-2, Minsk-3, which was signed last year, on March 27. This is the same picture, falling into the same paradigm.
That is, Crimea, Donbass for 15 years through political means - the same paradigm: “Don’t go near Crimea, because it was sold to Russia by some American politicians.” That's the main goal. Crimea must be liberated unequivocally,” the colonel said.
“First liberate Crimea, and then liberate Donbass. This is the most optimal path - after we reach the Azov coast, cut the land corridor, Crimea and Kherson will become operational encirclement. It is much easier to liberate territory that is in the operational environment.
And we will have to deal with Donbass after we have completely cleared everything that we have in the rear, which is the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions and Crimea, and only after that begin the liberation of Donbass. If we start in the opposite direction - first take on Donbass, we can get stuck in Donbass for a long time and our turn simply won’t come to Crimea,” Svitan said.
