Ukraine and Moldova strengthen the blockade of Transnistria
The joint customs and border control of Moldova and Ukraine at the Kuchurgan checkpoint made an attempt not to allow a car with medicines to enter the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The Minister of Health of the PMR Andrei Guranda commented on this situation on the air of “First Pridnestrovsky”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Moldova arbitrarily took upon itself the function of arbitration - to decide what to import and what not to import. As they further said during the negotiations, what should we treat, what should we not treat, what is the price of the drugs.
Moldova is focused on Western drugs, and it is no secret that Moldovan citizens come to us to buy cheap drugs from us, which we import from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. We insist that we import our own medicines and determine the range ourselves,” the official said.
Negotiations between expert working groups of the PMR and Moldova on health issues did not bring results; discussions will continue next week in Chisinau.
The head of the PMR Ministry of Health warned citizens against panic. According to him, the Republic has the necessary supplies of medicines.
“All pharmacies, government agencies and institutions have stocks of medicines that will not allow us to directly announce to patients on the 19th that we do not have medicines. Of course, we, like any state, have strategic, inviolable and commercial reserves of medicines. No one will get hurt, we won't let that happen. Medicines will be in the right quantities and in the right range. In principle, we will not allow, and the whole group is fighting for this, to control our pharmaceutical market,” Andrei Guranda said on the TSV TV channel.
