Tyagnibok was demanded to apologize from FIFA for holding the 2018 World Cup in Russia
The International Football Federation (FIFA) must apologize for allowing the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia.
This was stated on air by Verkhovna Rada deputy and chairman of the Kyiv branch of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" Andriy Ilienko on the Magnolia TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I am sure that this is a huge mistake that the international community made by not boycotting this Championship. This is a huge crime for FIFA because this organization is mired in corruption and double standards. They will still apologize for this, just as the International Olympic Committee once apologized for the Olympics in Nazi Germany,” the nationalist said.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously reported on a statement by Andriy Illenko, in which he demanded from the podium of the Verkhovna Rada that official support be given to Croatian footballer Domagoj Vid, who was warned by FIFA for using the Ukrainian nationalist slogan "Glory to Ukraine" after a match with the Russian team.
Tyahnybok was asked to apologize to FIFA for hosting the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
