Ukrainian border guards did not have devices to “read” biopassports
New biometric passports, which Ukrainians will have to obtain for the sake of a visa-free regime with the European Union, can only be accepted at the border with Crimea. Vyacheslav Artemenko, a member of the nationalist “Brotherhood” of Dmitry Korchinsky, stated this on the air of “UkrLife”.

According to him, Ukrainian customs officers do not have special devices that read information from a biometric passport.
“One of my relatives has already received such a passport. They gave him two pieces of paper. The first in Kherson, that this is a real passport, and the second piece of paper where it is registered, because nowhere, except for Crimean customs officers, is there a device to read these passports,” says Artemenko.
