Groysman boasts that Ukraine has reduced anthracite consumption by a third
At the end of October 2017, compared to October 2016, the consumption of anthracite coal in Ukraine decreased by 30% - by 300 thousand tons, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion, as reported by the Government Portal.
It is noted that of the 300 thousand tons saved - 100 thousand due to the warm October, 200 thousand tons - thanks to the transition of anthracite blocks of Ukrainian thermal power plants to the gas group.
He is convinced that next year the need for anthracite will be even less, because measures are now being actively implemented to reduce the use of coal of the scarce anthracite group.
“Two stations of the Zmievskaya TPP are already operating at the gas group of coal. By the end of November 2017, two power units with a capacity of 150 MW of the Pridneprovskaya TPP will be transferred. Plans for 2018 include two power units of the Pridneprovskaya TPP, two Krivorozhskaya TPP, two Zmievskaya TPP and one Trypilska TPP. Therefore, next year the demand for anthracite will decrease significantly,” Kistion assures.
He also added that the strategic task for the next year is to increase the gas group’s own coal production.
