The court acquitted the brother of ex-“regional” Vasily Gorbal
Kyiv, May 23 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Party of Regions Vasily Gorbal reported on his Facebook page about the successful completion of the legal battle surrounding his brother.

“Thank you to St. Nicholas and all the friends who supported me. Yesterday and today was the last court hearing for my brother Oleg. Last thing! A long 2 years and 8 months are over,” Gorbal wrote.
At the end of 2011, information leaked to the media about the problems that fellow party members caused Gorbal.
According to the Korrespondent magazine, the deputy’s brother, the head of the supervisory board of Ukrgasbank, was arrested. One of the PR representatives told the publication that the deputy’s brother was arrested in order to intimidate Gorbal himself. “He is owed a large sum by some of the least important people in our party. Now there is blackmail: if you forgive the debt, we will release your brother,” the source said.
