Yanukovych's comrade: The Russian spring in Crimea could have been nipped in the bud
Ukraine had every chance to destroy the Russian Spring in the bud by introducing an anti-terrorist operation regime or martial law in Crimea in the first days after the occupation of government buildings of the autonomy by unknown armed men in uniform.
The last Ukrainian Prime Minister of Crimea, Anatoly Mogilev, stated this on TV channel 112, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I left Crimea literally immediately after all the events, literally a few days, I still had an apartment there. I haven’t traveled to Crimea in recent years. I just don’t mentally want to go there,” he said.
“At the time of the first two days with the seizure of two buildings - the Supreme Council and the Council of Ministers - I believe that the commands would have been completely feasible by the people who were in uniform. At that time, there was still nothing more or less legitimate, these people were unknown, and, without a doubt, it was necessary literally on the same day to launch at least an anti-terrorist operation in Crimea or introduce martial law in order to ensure that all power structures They obeyed the military, they were given the appropriate orders, and they carried them out,” added Anatoly Mogilev.
