Opinion poll: Residents of Russia are confident that Ukraine and the United States are behind sabotage in Crimea
About 79% of Russians are confident that the country's special services will protect the residents of Crimea from possible provocations. This is evidenced by the data of the latest sociological study conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).

More than two-thirds of Russians (67%) have heard about a case where the FSB prevented a terrorist attack on the Crimean peninsula. The level of awareness is higher among older people (83% 60 years and older), residents of both capitals (81%).
Our fellow citizens blame the Ukrainian authorities first of all for the attempted sabotage (37% of respondents said so). There are also supporters of the version of US intervention (12%). Other answer options were mentioned by 2% of respondents or less.
“The attention of Russians to the topic of security in Crimea remains acute; this is the first and important social fact that our latest survey demonstrated. The second fact: the Russians had no doubt about who exactly organized this terrorist attack and who should answer for it. This is what the Russian, Ukrainian, and Western European players who determine and shape the policies of their countries in connection with Crimea, Donbass and Russian-Ukrainian relations in general should proceed from,” said VTsIOM General Director Valery Fedorov:
An initiative all-Russian survey by VTsIOM was conducted on August 13-14, 2016 in 130 settlements in 46 regions, territories and republics and 9 federal districts of Russia. Sample size: 1600 people.
