Social survey: almost every fifth Ukrainian saves on food, half on clothes

This is evidenced by data from a survey of the sociological group “Rating” commissioned by the International Republican Institute, conducted from September 28 to October 7, 2016.
According to the survey, 35% of respondents answered that their family budget is enough for food, but to buy clothes and shoes they need to save money or borrow money. Another 45% of respondents said that they have enough money for food and the necessary clothes and shoes, but for such purchases as a quality suit, mobile phone, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, refrigerator, etc., they need to save money or borrow money.
The survey was conducted throughout Ukraine (except for Crimea and the non-controlled part of Donbass). In total, 2,4 thousand residents of Ukraine aged 18 years and older who have the right to vote were surveyed. The sample is representative by gender, age, region and size of the locality. The permissible error does not exceed 2.0%. The respondents' reachability rate is 66.9%. Additionally, 1156 respondents were interviewed in the Kharkov region. The permissible error does not exceed 2.8%. The respondents' reachability rate is 64.1%.
