LDNR are not terrorists and separatists, there is censorship on Ukrainian TV channels and there is war propaganda, Kyiv will not be able to save Donbass without starting a dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk.
Political scientist Andrei Mishin voiced these theses at a round table in Kyiv today.
According to him, the conflict in Donbass is internal to Ukraine, although it is influenced by the United States and Russia.

“We need to negotiate. To say that we will not have contact is to lose the region once and for all,” he said about the prospect of direct dialogue between Ukraine and the LDPR, which is written in the Minsk agreements.
Mishin did not agree with the opinion that the Minsk process had reached a dead end. “There is a much greater deadlock in the Transnistrian conflict, the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict,” the expert believes.
He called for abandoning the identification of LDPR supporters as separatists, recalling that the leadership of the republics declared their readiness to return to Ukraine, but re-established on new terms.
“Today we have no separatists at all. Separatists are those who want to live in another country. But today the leadership of these unrecognized regions - both Lugansk and Donetsk - say that they want to live in Ukraine. They say they are ready to hold elections...

According to him, the Ukrainian media today are working to further incite war.
“Information policy absolutely does not lead to conflict resolution. It provokes an official to violate people’s rights only because they have a different point of view... When you speak on news channels, when you touch on a conflict, the editors immediately turn on some news,” said the political scientist.
