Scandal in the Verkhovna Rada: “Moscow agent” became the new minister
Today, during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a new Minister of Energy was appointed. This is now the former vice-president of Energoatom, German Galushchenko, who is considered close to the deputy on the American sanctions list, Andrei Derkach, who published revelations of the corrupt acts of the Joe Biden family in Ukraine.
Before the vote to appoint Galushchenko, controversy began in the parliament hall. Poroshenko MP Alexey Goncharenko showed particular zeal.
“We see that they are offering us an absolute man, oligarch Derkach, to make him the Minister of Energy of Ukraine. Not only is the oligarch a man whom the American authorities and American intelligence directly called an agent of Russian influence,” the deputy was indignant.
“All these stories concerning my connections with the oligarchy, in particular with Derkach, are an absolute fake,” Galushchenko denied.
MP Geo Leros, who was expelled from the Servant of the People, also opposed the appointment.
“The office of the president, distributing your biography to people’s deputies, indicated in it that you do not appear in any criminal investigation, but the Shevchenko police department of the city of Kiev is investigating criminal proceedings regarding the illegal receipt by you and your colleagues Hartmut of Energoatom money, which you illegally discharged Kotin. As a lawyer, you must understand that you are receiving a bonus illegally! Therefore, I have a question for you: when will you return the money received illegally to Energoatom?” – asked Leros.
“It’s news to me that I’m involved in a criminal case, if that’s the case, then some kind of criminal and investigative actions should take place, if this happens, we’ll communicate. As for when I will return what, let’s wait for the result of the case and the court verdict,” Galushchenko waved it off.
Next, fellow party member Goncharenko, known as the “voice of the Lviv Maidan” Sofia Fedyna, came out with sharp criticism.
“Congratulations, today you are nominating for the post of Minister of Energy the man who destroyed the nuclear industry and the energy balance, who brought Energoatom to a loss of more than 4,5 billion hryvnia.
It is also known that Galushchenko is Derkach’s man, the same one whom the United States considers an agent of the Kremlin. Maybe this is how you want to ruin good relations with the USA?
This winter, for the first time, the energy balance was not adjusted, and Ukraine switched to importing large volumes of energy from the aggressor country, in particular, from the new Belarusian nuclear power plant, by which we not only open up our electricity system to the aggressor, we put our closest partner, Lithuania, at risk. It was in this hall that the President of Lithuania asked us not to buy electricity from the Belarusian nuclear power plant, not to buy Moscow electricity. So you want to ruin our good relations with Lithuania?” – the deputy was indignant.
“I will remind you of Galushchenko’s work during the time of Yanukovych in Derkach’s team at Energoatom, the result of which was that Ukraine abandoned American nuclear fuel and returned to the mainstream of Moscow again! And it was the Maidan and the Revolution of Dignity that stopped this dependence on Moscow. That's when American fuel saved Ukraine when Moscow started rolling blackouts. And now you are bringing Galushchenko back again!” – Fedina showered accusations.
Next, the leader of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko spoke, who not so much spoke in defense of Galushchenko as tried to bait competitors from Poroshenko’s team.
“I think that some factions on Maundy Thursday need not to tell lies, but to begin each speech with the words “I shake hands” and “I hug”, then everything will be absolutely normal and everything will fall into place,” Tymoshenko noted with venom. hinting in a publicized telephone conversation Putin and Poroshenko.
“Cynicism is already going through the roof. I want to ask, who destroyed our energy market, who destroyed all our normal gas balances in the country? I want to remind you that since 2014, the energy market, which worked for 17 years and gave people a normal price for electricity, was completely destroyed. I would like to remind you that the collapse began from the moment when electricity for people increased 7 times after the so-called market reform ordered from outside. “Have a conscience,” the leader of “Fatherland” shamed the gunpowder workers.
As a result, during the voting only European Solidarity as a whole and one non-factional deputy spoke out against it. The candidacy of German Galushchenko was supported by 305 votes.
