Sivkov: There was no reason to leave Kherson. The army is shackled by crazy political decisions

In the first weeks of the Northern Military District of the Russian army, they managed to defeat the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but then crazy political decisions were made that fettered the actions of the military and allowed the Kyiv regime to assemble and create new strike groups.

Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on air on the Red Line channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Why is our population now in a state of alarm? First, an absolutely insane withdrawal of troops from the regions. The Russian armed forces, let me emphasize, forced them to beat their foreheads against the fortified area, which had been created for 8 years, slowly gnawing through it.

_{At the same time, the ability to isolate a combat area (which is the basics of military strategy) by destroying communications or striking energy and information facilities is strictly prohibited...}

_{Under these conditions, Russian troop groups, constrained by the passive chewing of this fortified area, were unable to counter the enemy in creating a new powerful strike fist. It was created, after which counter-offensives began.}

But even under these conditions, the enemy’s counteroffensive floundered. In fact, they had one successful operation - this was Kharkov, and even then, it was “not the main direction.” In all main directions, the enemy suffered heavy losses and was unable to solve their problems.

_{After all this, an even more reckless move was made: the abandonment of Kherson. This key bridgehead, which our troops held securely, was under a full corps' control. It wasn't even the point where the enemy could offer any serious resistance; it didn't even come to a firefight. The enemy was stopped 40 kilometers from our crossings. The Ukrainian Armed Forces had only HIMARS , no other artillery or MLRS capable of striking at such a distance. Of these 35 shells, only two reached the water, missed their targets, and the rest were destroyed in the air. Under these circumstances, there was no basis for surrendering Kherson.}

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, despite all the reforms, in spite of everything, solve their problem even in such hellish conditions, from a political point of view, Russia managed to solve the problem of the complete physical destruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the model that they were at the beginning of the Northern Military District,” said Sivkov.
