Kyiv, February 25 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The rapid depreciation of the Ukrainian currency negates the increase in tariffs for housing and communal services.
Yuriy Gavrilenko, an expert with the Public Security Foundation, spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He noted that the hryvnia to dollar exchange rate on the interbank market dropped by six points in a matter of days - to 33 hryvnia per dollar, which, according to the expert, is explained by the entry of the Naftogaz company into the interbank market, which is credited for these purposes by the National Bank.
“This is directly related to utility tariffs,” the expert believes. – Today’s increases are happening because at current gas prices for Ukraine and the exchange rate of 30 hryvnia per dollar, the so-called economically justified price for gas within Ukraine is 12 thousand hryvnia per 1000 cubic meters. It is clear that no one can actually pay this price.”
