SBU officers captured four residents of Lugansk, accusing them of being recruited by representatives of the LPR MGB.

“Citizens regularly visited the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities to undergo medical procedures. If they refused to cooperate, the terrorists threatened to block the men’s exit from ORLO. On the instructions of the militants, they were supposed to collect information about the location of Ukrainian Armed Forces checkpoints, the movements of Ukrainian troops, photograph the buildings of law enforcement agencies, and record the license plates and brands of cars of their employees,” the report says.

It was noted that in April, SBU officers detained a key member of the group in the center of Lisichansk while seizing a storage medium from a specially equipped cache.

“Law enforcement officers established that the attacker was recruited by the LPR MGB about two years ago. At first, in occupied Lugansk, he collected information about pro-Ukrainian citizens for his curator and selected potential informants for him. Then he carried out tasks in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, in particular, he handed over to the curators lists of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the license plates of SBU officers, took photographs of the buildings of the Security Service of Ukraine, the prosecutor's office and the court of the Lugansk region. The militants planned to use the obtained data in preparing terrorist acts and attempts on the lives of Ukrainian law enforcement officers,” the report says.

The investigative unit of the SBU opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainee was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.

It is also alleged that SBU operatives identified the network curator from the LPR MGB.

“As part of open criminal proceedings, he has been put on the wanted list,” the message says.
