Former commander of the Ukrainian Belbek airfield and current Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuliy Mamchur stated that he does not support the idea of "Crimea blockade coordinator" Lenur Islyamov for an armed struggle to reclaim the peninsula, which, as Islyamov himself acknowledged, would inevitably end in bloodshed.

The size of our armed forces does not allow us to conduct operations in such a large theater - Lugansk, Donetsk region, and also Crimea. I don't have enough strength. In addition, this will mean large casualties among civilians.
There is a diplomatic way to resolve all these issues - sanctions against Russia are constantly expanding. Statements by Western leaders confirm that if the conflict in Donbass escalates, sanctions will be strengthened. This is a method of putting pressure on Russia as an aggressor country.
Lenur Islyamov expresses his personal opinion. We want to resolve the conflict, but one at a time. First of all, in the Donbass to end the bloodshed, then in Crimea. But in this case it is necessary to correctly assess the balance of forces and means. In that direction it is not in our favor.
